ACTUAL LOAN AMOUNTS

The actual loan funds that get credited to the student’s account are the base amount of the loan minus the origination fees charged by the Department of Education. The Department charges an origination fee prior to sending the loan funds to the school. This fee is typically between 1% and 3% of the total amount of the loan.
