Have you distinguished yourself in your studies? Perhaps you are a deserving student who fits certain special circumstances. You may be eligible for one of La Roche College's competitive merit-based scholarships for new full-time and part-time students. These scholarships are listed below and are renewable. Eligibility criteria and renewal guidelines differ for each type of award. If you are eligible for more than one La Roche College scholarship, you will receive the higher award. This includes tuition waivers.
Full-time Freshmen and Transfer Students
All new full-time students are automatically reviewed by their respective admissions office for merit-based scholarships. These scholarships range in value from $1,000 to $8,000 based upon the student's grade point average at their time of acceptance.
Phi Theta Kappa Award
If you are a member of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society and have a GPA of 3.5 or higher at the time of your acceptance to La Roche College, you are encouraged to apply for this scholarship. Both full-time and part-time students are eligible. Applications are available in the Office of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education and will be reviewed upon submission. Scholarship amounts range up to $1,500 per academic year for part-time students. Full-time students are eligible from $4,500 to $6,500 per academic year.

La Roche College is pleased to offer scholarship assistance through annual awards and endowments, made possible by the generous contributions of benefactors.
To apply for any of the scholarships, complete the related downloadable application. Return the completed application to the Development Office, Room 239 Providence Hall. The complete address is included on each application form.
All applications will be reviewed by the La Roche College Scholarship Committee and applicants will be informed of the Committee's decision. After a student is chosen to receive an award, the College's Office of Financial Aid is charged with administering the scholarships. Raymond and Regina Dennis Memorial Scholarship Award
Established in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis by their daughter, the award provides one (1) scholarship during the academic year to a full- or part-time, non-traditional, female undergraduate student in the School of the Professions. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, have financial need and academic merit (minimum 3.5 GPA). Essay required and a sampling of portfolio of work (if applicable).

Suzanne M. Lynch Memorial Scholarship Fund at The Pittsburgh Foundation
The fund was created by friends, colleagues and loves ones to honor the memory of a talented young woman who cherished family and friends. The scholarship is available to students from La Roche College, Art Institute, Chatham University, Indiana University of PA and Mercyhurst College who are US citizens, part-time or full-time undergraduate or graduate students, with financial need and completing their junior year in the Interior Design program.
Applications are available for La Roche students through the Interior Design Department or through the following link to The Pittsburgh Foundation. Founders Scholarship Award
Created by the Sisters of Divine Providence, Marie de la Roche Province, the scholarship awards provide financial assistance to students with merit (minimum 3.0 GPA) and significant need as determined by the La Roche College Financial Aid Office. The number and value of awards will vary each year; however, awards are for full tuition, less institutional aid received. Applicants must satisfy all other educational costs, including, but not limited to: room/board, fees, medical insurance, books, loans, and any outstanding balances owed to La Roche College. Applications are open to full or part time, traditional or non-traditional, domestic or international students from any major. Students must be pursuing a degree from La Roche College and maintain the minimum 3.0 GPA throughout the award period. Essay required. Renewable award.

Sodexho Facility Management Scholarship Award
Created by Sodexho Campus Services, an operating division of Sodexho, the scholarship award provides financial assistance to students who are full or part-time undergraduates majoring in Facility Management at La Roche College. Applicants must have academic merit (minimum 3.0 GPA), financial need, and completed one year in the Facility Management program. Applications open to US citizens only. Essay required. Non-renewable award.

Robert B. Anticole Endowed Memorial Scholarship - Created in memory of Robert Blaise Anticole, who was a strong advocate of the importance of education. The scholarship provides one annual non-renewable award to a full-time student. Limited to juniors or seniors majoring in Computer Science, Computer Information Science or Information Technology, who have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and are U.S. citizens. Essay required.

Dr . A. Kenneth & Doris Hesselberg Endowed Scholarship - Established by the Estate of Dr. A. Kenneth Hesselberg. One annual award available to a full-time undergraduate student in any major, having a minimum GPA of 3.5 and demonstrating outstanding academic merit with or without financial need. Recipient must be a U.S. citizen. Recipient may reapply for subsequent awards provided the student maintains eligibility. Essay required and a sampling of portfolio of work (if applicable).

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Endowed Scholarship
Established by the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, the scholarship provides one (1) scholarship for the academic year to a full-time, undergraduate student or incoming freshman. Full-time student applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and incoming freshmen applicants must have a minimum 3.5 GPA. Also required is a 500-word essay on a topic to be provided and a sampling of portfolio of work (if applicable), two letters of recommendation, transcript, and a list of other scholarships applied for and/or received. Preference will be given to individuals who demonstrate a sincere interest in and enthusiasm for Greek culture, society, language and customs.

Dr. MariJean Ferguson Sociology Endowed Scholarship for Women
This scholarship was established in memory of Dr. MariJean Ferguson, former faculty member and Chair of the Department of Sociology, by her family. It is a non-renewable award that is available to a full-time female student with merit and need. Applicants must be beginning or returning to higher education to pursue an undergraduate sociology degree after having postponed attainment of that degree due to extenuating circumstances. Freshmen applicants must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0. Upper classmen applicants must have completed at least 15 credit hours and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Recipient must maintain full-time student status during the award period. Essay and recommendation letter required.

Kris Rosenberg Memorial Endowed Scholarship for Returning Women - Created in memory of Kris Rosenberg, a former adjunct faculty member in the department of psychology. Provides for an annual non-renewable award for female students, undergraduate or graduate, age 25 or more, who are either returning to higher education after a period of absence or are beginning their pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree after postponing that degree due to extenuating circumstances. Applicants must have completed at least 15 credit hours during the previous 12 months at the College and have attained a minimum GPA of 3.25. Applicants must have demonstrated financial need and maintain a schedule of at least 9 credit hours a semester during the award period. Essay required and a sampling of portfolio of work (if applicable).

Frank & Josephine Zappala Endowed Scholarship - Established by the Estate of Josephine Zappala in honor of her friend and former President of La Roche College, Monsignor William A. Kerr. This annual, renewable award is offered to full-time students of Italian-American heritage with documented academic potential and participation in extracurricular activities. The Zappala Scholarship is intended to assist deserving students who seek to further their education to improve themselves, their families and the world at large. Essay required.

Campana Modern Languages Endowed Scholarship - Established by Dr. Louis F. Campana, in memory of Sister Mathia Pfeil and Sister Godfreda Pfeil, to encourage the study of foreign languages. Provides an annual award to students who have completed at least one full year of modern language study at La Roche, are currently enrolled in a modern language course and who plan to use a modern language in their career. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Essay required.

Carol '81 & Hugo Churchill Endowed Scholarship - This award commemorates the late Mrs. Churchill's educational experience at La Roche College. Provides for an annual award to students with 60 or more credits (30 obtained at La Roche) with demonstrated financial need and academic achievement. Preference will be given to non-traditional age females and traditional age males. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Essay required and a sampling of portfolio of work (if applicable).

Joseph E. Homer Memorial Nurse Anesthetist Endowed Scholarship - Established in memory of Joseph E. Homer '98, who was a second-year nurse anesthetist graduate student. Annual award made to an eligible second-year nurse anesthetist student who demonstrates financial need with a minimum GPA of 3.5. Essay required.

International Facility Management Association Endowed Scholarship - Established by the Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of International Facility Management Association. Annual renewable award made to a student pursuing a facility management degree and having completed 30 undergraduate credits. Student must have demonstrated financial need and a minimum GPA of 3.0. Essay required.

Sr. Mary Thomas Kadyszewski Distinguished Service Endowed Scholarship - Established as a tribute to Sr. Mary's 22 years of service to the La Roche College community as a member of the faculty. Annual non-renewable award made to a new freshman or transfer student who demonstrates the quality of service to others through voluntary involvement in school, church and community activities. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Essay required.

Stanley Michalek Memorial Endowed Scholarship - Established in memory of Stanley Michalek. Annual non-renewable award made to a full-time undergraduate student with 90 or more credits majoring in Administration & Management with preference given to an accounting major. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Judge Timothy F. & Mrs. Rhea Ryan Memorial Endowed Scholarship - Established by Andrea and the late Thomas C. Ryan in memory of his parents. Annual non-renewable award made to a student majoring in Administration & Management and having completed 30 or more credits from La Roche. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Essay required.

Daniel W. Schneider Memorial Endowed Scholarship - Established in 1979 in memory of Daniel W. Schneider. Provides a renewable award to a junior having a GPA of 3.0. Essay required.

Daniel Schneider Memorial Endowed Scholarship II - provides an award to a male student who is a sportsman and is associated with a building trades union. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Essay required.

Divine Providence Endowed Scholarship - Annual renewable award made to a full-time female student, with preference given to a minority student. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and academic progress of at least 24 credits. Essay required.
